亚当斯密商学院入学标准Business School Postgraduate Admissions: October 2012Due to unprecedented demand for our Business School postgraduate taught programmes over the last 2-3 years, the University of Glasgow is introducing:1. Revised Entry Requirements for Accountancy & Finance and Economics programmes;2. New Entry Criteria and a new Admissions Process for the M.Acc and M.Finn programmes.These changes take effect in October 2012, and apply to all applications for 2013 entry.Please note that there have been no changes to the entry criteria or process for applicants to our Management programmes within the Business School.Whilst the entry requirements detailed below are more stringent, this communication and approach is designed to correctly set applicants expectations and avoid disappointment post application.The Admissions Process change for the M.Acc and M.Finn programmes are also being introduced to facilitate faster response times to applicants and a clearer process for the payment of deposits. These changes will ensure that all applicants are considered equally and that deadlines for applications and deposits are communicated clearly.The following sections detail the changes being made:1 - Revised Entry Requirements for Accountancy & Finance (other than M.Acc and M.Finn), and Economics programmesWith the exception of the MAcc International Accounting and Financial Management and MFin International Finance the general entry requirement for postgraduate taught programmes are as follows§Applicants from the ‘985’ group of universities must achieve an overall score of 75% or better.§Applicants from a university ranked in the top 300 institutions in China, but not a ‘985’ group university must achieve an overall score of 80% or better.§ Applicants from a university ranked 300-399 in China, but not a ‘985’ group university must achieve an overall score of 85% or better.2. New Entry Criteria and a new Admissions Process for the M.Acc and M.Finn programmes.During the last 2-3 years, our M.Acc and M.Finn courses have been massively over subscribed. Consequently, for the 2012/13 Admissions Cycle (2013 entry) these programmes will only accept students graduating from the top 178 universities in China.§Where the applicant is from a top 178 university which is part of the ‘985’ group, they will be accepted when their overall score is 75% or better. Additionally, applicants will have to have completed at least 4 full courses in accounting, finance or auditing (or similar), with an average score in these subjects of at least 80%.§ Where the applicant is from a top 178 university which is NOT part of the ‘985’ group, they will be accepted when their overall score is 80% or better. Additionally, applicants will have to have completed at least 4 full courses in accounting, finance or auditing (or similar), with an average score in these subjects of at least 85%.
