东中西部区域发展和改革研究院CRDRI东中西部区域发展和改革研究院（China Region Development & Reform Institute简称“发改院”） ，创办于2002年；是在中国国务院提出“西部提速，东北攻坚，东部保持，东西互动，拉动中部，东中西部协调发展”经济发展大思路的背景下成立的；是集研究、咨询、会议和培训于一体的综合性智库研究机构

发改院（CRDRI)成立，承担并主持了多项中国第十和第十一个“国民经济和社会发展五年规划”的国家重点研究项目，进行了300多个独立或子课题的研究，特别是在探索性研究课题方面，提出、发表了上百份科研专题报告，获得中国从高层到基层各级政府的重视与肯定

The CRDRI（China Region Development & Reform Institute）was founded in 2002, in the context of the State Council of China putting forward the economic development idea of “speeding up the development of the west of China, solving the development difficulties of the northeast of China, keeping the development of the east of China, promoting the east–west interaction, spurring the development of the central China, and keeping the eastern, western and central China harmonious development ”. The CRDRI is a comprehensive think tank research institute engaging in research, consulting, meeting and training, the research scope of which is very broad. And the research characteristics of its consultative policymaking, public-good are more obvious.Since its establishment, the CRDRI has undertaken and presided over many national key research projects of the tenth and eleventh “National Economic and Social Development Five-year Plan”, researched nearly 300 independent subjects or sub-subject, especially in the field of explorative research projects, put forward and published hundreds of special reports on scientific research, which have received highest attentions and full recognition from all level governments in China.In 2002, the CRDRI established the Public School Net; in 2004, found the Centum Charitas Foundation, presided over and reviewed “China Development 100 Persons’ Award”, “China Development 100 Persons’ Scholarship”; in 2007, established the Think Tank Industry Research Group for focusing on the research of the think tank industry; in 2010, pioneered two series of readings on think tank research in China including of National Think Tank(quarterly), China Think Tank(quarterly), which have become the important window and platform to show the research and development of Chinese think tank; in2012, first published the China Think Tank Development Report (2011), which gives full exploration and research on the development trajectory of Chinese think tank; in2013, published China Think Tank Development Report (2012) (yearly blue book). At the same time, the CRDRI has been making active efforts on policy advice, regional planning, holding New Deal think tank salon, building think tank industry demonstration area, etc. There are few full-time researchers but hundreds of part-time researchers in the CRDRI, and the capital source are from the appropriation of the scientific research projects of the state’s provincial and ministerial level, the purchase of the government, the sponsoring of the enterprises and foundation, etc.The CRDRI is a new exploration of Chinese research field on the reform of scientific research system, the aim of which is to mobilize the resource of all circles and gather distinguished scholars to serve the scientific decision making. The late Dong Fureng (well-known economist) and the late Qian Weichang(vice chairman of the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, senior academician of the CAS) once hold the post in the CRDRI. There are more than 20 famous political activists, economists, experts on public policy, diplomatists, sociologists, jurists and strategists serving as consultants in the CRDRI. Cheng Siwei(vice chairman of the ninth and tenth Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, famous economist) and Li Wuwei(vice chairman of the eleventh National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference) hold the post of honorary presidents in the CRDRI. Mr. Ren Yuling holds the post of the current president of the CRDRI who has been serving three successive governments as the counselor of the State Council. Professor Yu Jin holds the post of the executive president of the CRDRI who is the director of the national key research projects.
