汪品先科研成就科研综述汪品先揭示中国各海区沉积中钙质微体化石的分布格局及其控制因素,提出了识别海相、咸水湖与淡水相的标志及其重要性

引进多种定量古生态研究方法,推动中国微体古生物研究朝定量古生态方向发展 

汪品先率领的团队建立起了中国第一个海底综合观测深网系统——东海海底观测小衢山试验站 ;研究建立了西太平洋海区最佳深海地层剖面,发现碳循环长周期 ;首次发现了南海等西太平洋边缘海在冰期/间冰期旋回中环境与沉积变化的古海洋学放大效应 ;发现大洋碳循环的长周期,提出地球表层系统变化中的“双重驱动”机制,在气候演变的热带驱动与大洋碳循环方面取得原创性的理论研究成果,获得中国国内外学术界的高度评价和肯定 ;实现了中国海区深海科学钻探零的突破,为南海演变和东亚古气候研究取得了3200万年的深海记录
